Cruise Arround Manhattan

Mondrian Centre Pompidou Sunday, February 6

Present: Marie Claire, Danielle and Dominique 4com L92

Very interesting exhibition of Piet Mondrian:
ones we selected: Mondrian's reputation was built on the radical treatment table designed from the beginning of his career he concentrated all its resources on building a simple composition made perfectly balanced shapes reduced to a few colors and rectangles, placed on an orthogonal grid, and the whole declined in the playoffs until the end of his life.

In this regard we have seen a series of tables with the subject tree in shades of gray, gold. A series on the oval with more colorful forms that approximates its final table to finish on his most famous.

We also saw some works of De Stijl movement : is a group of artist whose Mondrian was and who works on themes and ideas in common.

De Stijl (pronounced [də . "Stɛil ] in Dutch " style ") was originally a review of arts and architecture , published 1917 to 1928, under the leadership of the Theo van Doesburg and with the active participation of Piet Mondrian . By extension, De Stijl means an artistic movement, born of neoplasticism and who deeply influenced the architecture of xx th century (especially Bauhaus and, consequently, the international style ).

What we think:

Marie Claire: L'Ecole de Stijl I liked (the beginning of abstract art)

Dominica: A lot of geometry and abstraction

Danielle: A surfeit of vertical and horizontal lines

Chocolate Amorino was terrible in the series on the trees was very nice, the clouds were abstract amazing and we were looking women in the portraits of women.

Good Fair throughout
